The Maze Runner

Synopsis: When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he s not alone. When the lift s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls. Just like Thomas, the Gladers don t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift. Thomas was expected. But the next day, a girl is sent up the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers. Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind.

My2Cents: When I read the reviews on this book I thought I was going to enjoy the thing, but... By the time I reached the end of this one, I wasn't too happy. I know YA novels are targeted towards the teens but the way this book was written/narrated... it just felt like it was addressed to idiots. The repetition on explanations was just horrid to go through. The last thing this reader needs is to be "showed" something in the story and then repeatedly be "told" the story (like "showing" wasn't enough). I made it to the end of this thing skipping through paragraphs only to find out its a first book in a series. I. WILL. NOT. BUY. THE. SECOND. BOOK. OR. ANY. OF. DASHNER'S. BOOKS.

That's a FACT!

MyVerdict:
Total waste of time and money - Simply NOT good.

UpNext: Find a sucker who will trade a book I want for this piece of shit.
